I have an set of silver plated flatware that was my grandmother's. The maker is WM RODGERS & SON EXQUISITE. There are 8 tablespoons, 16 teaspoons, 8 salad forks, 8 long forks, 8 knives, one serving fork and one soup ladle. Is the set worth anything, and if so, how much? It is vintage 1940.

I need some help. Six years ago in Denver, Colorado I bought a set of Silver at an estate. The man who had died brought it back from Germany at the end of WWII and said that it was German officer's silver flatware. The family was ashamed he had "stole" it and never used it. Because it is…

Hello, I have a 25 gallon water jug/cooler with no markings except for the number 25 engraved on it. It is brownish red in color and it looks like it was hand made pottery because of the "grooves" on the inside. I have a wooden spout and a brass spout for it. Where the spout would go at the bottom, the whole has been filled in with a gummy substance. It stands approx 3 ft. tall and has 2 handles made of the same pottery material. My step dad bought it in southern MO. They were tearing down an ol…

Dealer to Dealer Sales, Life blood of the Antiques Trade.
With out Dealer to Dealer sales the Antiques and Collectibles Business would fold.
It's not much talked about, but everyone is aware of it. In my end of the business it's absolutely vital, I have to buy cheap enough to resell to another Dealer who can mark it up and resell it to another dealer, in my view few items actually end up in collectors hands. Of course that's not a wholly accurate statement, but it does get to the point, that yo…

Researching your Collectibles and Antiques
I've been kickin around Antique Shops and Auctions a long time now, read up on the Price Guides for FUN, faithfully follow Antiques Road Show, and I still know nothing about much of anything!
So how do you go about getting information about an item you have no clue about? How can you find it's value, it's history? In the Olden Days, I would go through 30 Price Guides, ask my Store Mates, Ask anyone who might have an Idea.
Today we have Google! We also…
