Is the Seat Solid ( One Piece of WOOD ) Or is there several pieces glued together?
Hard to see much with 1 photo, also the underside would be nice to see.

seat is solid,.I looked over every square inch trying to find a makers mark, nothing anywhere, underside is rough,i know for sure it's been in the family through 3 generations maybe more.hasn't been used for anything but maybe to throw coats on or a quilt.Nobody sits in it because of its age.

Solid Seat and rough under are good. Does the back rest have a Leather or Vinyl Cushion? Has it been refinished at all?
Somethings look right and other not. But it's a photo and can't see very well.
It is a different looking rocker. The seat has age. So the rest of it should follow. Furniture is very hard to trace down. Since much was made by farmers in Barns and Large and Small Manufactures. Look for tool marks, if you can see the glue in joints that helps to define age. I doubt there are any Nails used?

Only metal i can find is one crude looking screw,in each arm attaching it to the back uprights one is original and at one time one was replaced ,with a newer screw ,and thats the only place i can see glue, cant find any anywhere else, but each arm rest has one thin rod vertical towards the front a square nut under seat and slides into a slot under arm, looks like you could slide the rod out of the arm, metal plate under arm i forgot what you call the hole but its 2 holes one bigger then the other and rod slides from big hole to smaller to lock rod in.going to my mothers in acouple weeks, how can i tell if its leather or vinyl ? you cant realy see it in the photo but the back has a gold print of what looks like a coat of arms.
